Welcome to Landlord Accreditation Wales

Other Accreditation Schemes

You may already be part of another Accreditation scheme run by one of the Council's in Wales, or by the London Partnership. If this is the case, read on to find out how this effects joining this scheme:

London Landlord Accreditation Scheme

London Landlord Accreditation Scheme (LLAS):

The LAWs is an affiliated member of the LLAS and so if you are already a member of the London scheme, you can be by-passed into the Welsh scheme. Please contact the scheme administrator via the contact us page in order to benefit from being part of the Welsh scheme as well.

Local Accreditation Scheme's:

All local accreditation schemes in Wales rely on a set of standards in relation to property condition to be met.

These schemes do not become redundant with the arrival of the LAW scheme. Each Local Authority will decide whether to continue operating local accreditation schemes. Local schemes will complement the Wales wide scheme, and offer landlords and agents the opportunity to gain local and national recognition.

Landlords and agents part of a local scheme as well as the national scheme can be sure that all aspects of their business have been assessed and they have done everything they can to demonstrate they are committed to working with the Local Authority and offering safe, well managed accommodation.

Additionally some local accreditation scheme's offer incentives to join their local schemes based on local priorities, such as grant aide for works on houses within renewal areas, etc. Local Authorities will be encouraging landlords to be part of one or preferable both of the scheme's available in their area.
